Just got my BX2350. It's perfect for me, but my wife complain she can't move the seat forward enough. Anyone have an idea how to "modify".

Tony, it might be easier to go at the problem the other way around.

If the seat doesn't go far enough forward for her to reach the pedals comfortably, it would be a heap easier to make wooden blocks that strap on (those rad. hose clamps work nice) top of the pedals that effectively raise the height of the pedals.

This is commonly done in the aviation industry where fixed position seats are quite common.

Best of luck. ....

Tony,

I just ordered a bx1850, I don't have it yet. I am concerned about the very same thing. My wife is only 5 ft. tall and it is a fight to see who gets to drive the tractor and who gets to trim. She wins everytime... I told the dealer when he delivers the tractor, I don't care how long it takes, you will fit the tractor to her. Just figure that into the price. Bring both the new and old seat she is going to try both.

You might want too look up companies that offer handicapper driving aids. I have seen extruded aluminum blocks that attach to the pedals in similar fashion to what Murf suggested.

Do your machines have telescoping and or tilting steering columns? My New Holland TC33D has both and makes it easy for my young neices (7 y.o.--with me in the seat too--and 11 y.o to drive it). ....

There are two tabs under the seat, limiting the seat travel forward. I cut them off, and gained almost 2 inches of travel. Works perfect for my wife. Can't see any problems, except it makes the engine kill switch more sensitive. Added a one millimeter shim under the switch actuator.
